Siemens Energy Car Blocker/Packer - 2nd Shift in Richland, Mississippi
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be preparing a full range of large and small products for shipment on a daily basis. Duties will include checking, marking, and recording various amounts of items that are being shipped, as well as securing product and sub components for shipment by rail, road, or truck, and protecting specified surfaces of shipments as required
How You’ll Make an Impact
Candidatewill check order, quantity, and identity of products being shipped
You willsearch up part numbers via computer, and will be pulling ship-along parts tosecure for shipment
Youshould be able to line boxes and wrap, bag, cover, or protect specifiedsurfaces as required
You willsecure items being shipped with blocking, wrapping, banding, covering, orsimilar work as needed. You will also be expected to install bracing asrequired
Candidatemust be capable of constructing shipping containers, requiring the use of smallhand tools, saws, nail guns, etc
You willmove, shift, and align shipments on trucks to allow proper securement
You willweigh, mark, stencil, tag, and identify items as required for shipment
You willbe required to report discrepancies in materials or items to be shipped
Secondary Duties
Theseinclude keeping immediate work area clean and orderly, and operating lifttruck, pallet jack, or similar equipment as required
Anyadditional duties as required
What You Bring (requirements)
HighSchool Diploma, or GED
Capableof working under general direction of supervisor
Thoroughknowledge of shipping functions and related items
Basiccarpentry skills with the ability to operate power tools
Basiccomputer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office etc)
Abilityto read sketches and measurements
