Energy Northwest Engineer Principal/Senior/Staff/Engineer-Licensing in Richland, Washington

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provide Licensing and Compliance support to Energy Northwest line organizations to ensure compliance and operation of Columbia Generating Station in accordance with applicable US Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements in the Code of Federal Regulations. Routinely interfaces with Engineering and Operations organizations as well as federal regulatory staff. At the principal level this requires the ability to perform highly complex tasks with a high level of independence.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Regulatory Compliance support with limited oversight to include:

• Coordinating routine NRC interface and non-baseline inspections

• Responding to complex NRC compliance concerns

• Developing complex regulatory correspondence including responses to notice of violations.

Regulatory Licensing support with limited oversight to include:

• Providing lifecycle support (development, peer/regulatory review, implementation) for complex changes to licensing basis documents

• Preparing, submitting, and implementing license amendment requests, relief requests and other NRC approved licensing actions which are complex or unprecedented.

General Regulatory support with limited oversight to include:

• Providing regulatory guidance and proactive counsel to agency staff and senior management on complex regulatory issues.

• Providing comprehensive ownership/management of new and existing station level regulatory training programs.

• Interpreting and verifying complex industry and Energy Northwest issues.

• Participating in station teams supporting complex plant design changes, emergent plant issues, operating experience reviews, quality assurance, corrective action program, human performance, station initiatives, etc.

• Modifying existing or creating new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet station level strategic objectives.

• Serving as recognized station subject matter expert in complex regulatory processes and programs such as 10 CFR 50.59, Commitment Management and Event Reporting.

• Mentoring new or lower level regulatory affairs staff.

• Other duties as assigned

External activities to include:

• Attending industry training and workshops.

• Participating in industry working groups and other discipline related activities in a contributor level role.

Must participate in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) when designated

Must support the biennial refueling outage

Must provide support to the Outage Command Center and Engineering Outage Center

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Engineer Principal-Licensing

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and eight years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including two or more years with exposure to licensing and regulatory processes; OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and eight years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including two or more years with exposure to licensing and regulatory processes. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Requires at least one diverse Assignment.

Engineer Senior-Licensing

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and five years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including two or more years with exposure to licensing and regulatory processes; OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and five years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including two or more years with exposure to licensing and regulatory processes. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Engineer Staff-Licensing

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and at least one year of engineering experience; OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and at least one year of engineering experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Engineer-Licensing

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and zero to three years of engineering experience; OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and zero to three years of engineering experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.

$108,279 - $162,419

Midpoint: $135,349

Engineer Senior

$94,148 - $141,222

Midpoint: $117,685

Engineer Staff

$81,862 - $122,792

Midpoint: $102,327

Engineer

$71,230 - $106,846

Midpoint: $89,038

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
