Job Responsibilities/Duties
Duties include operating, monitoring, and tuning/operational adjustments to process boilers and auxiliary equipment and/or systems to support start-up, operations and shut down: recording readings and parameters for operational status and compliance; inspecting fluids; monitoring meters, gauges and tank levels; time sensitive adjustment and operational repairs of boiler equipment to maintain safe operations within the parameters of system design and procedural compliance; managing/monitoring boiler fuel oil system and fuel utilization; waste water sampling and sample transportation; monitoring and recording system status information for maintenance modifications or repairs; maintaining cleanliness; and supporting boiler procedure development and drawing updates and implementing those accordingly.
Required to hold boiler Class 1 Boiler License, complete all Process Boiler Operator (PBO) site-specific qualifications, and support/oversee outage inspections and repairs, as necessary.
May direct others and perform duties as assigned or directed. May perform Stationary Operating Engineer functions.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma.
Must have the required number of high pressure and low-pressure boiler operator hours to obtain a 1st Class Boiler Operator license.
Compensation & Benefits
Trainee Hourly Rate: $45.806
Licensed Hourly Rate: $46.923
In accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the salary offered for this position will be reflective of the assigned job classification and associated wage scale. Actual placement on the wage scale will be based on a candidate's education, training and/or experience. A step rate increase will be implemented every six months (as applicable) until the top rate of the wage scale is reached.
