Outreach Development Corporation Maintenance Worker in Richmond Hill, New York
Outreach is seeking a qualified full-time maintenance person to carry out all repairs and services, as well as coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as required to insure the ongoing safety and orderly operation of the physical plant of our locations.
Job Scope:
Maintains and oversees maintenance of the facilities
Regularly inspects the building, grounds, and equipment. Makes repairs as needed.
Reports any issues to the maintenance supervisor
Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance supervisor
Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
Maintains and reorders janitorial and household inventory.
Maintain working relationships with vendors to secure lowest prices work contracted work.
Planning and overseeing building work/renovation and performs various maintenance functions as needed, including electrical, plumbing, flooring, carpentry, painting, etc.
Oversee contractual and warranty work of vendors.
Monitor agency vehicles and maintenance.
Identify major problem areas and recommend solutions.
Performing other tasks as requested... including daily routine repairs to the physical plant.
Monitors inventory and purchases of maintenance supplies. Prepares purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts for maintenance equipment, supplies and services.
Overseeing and assisting with trash and snow removal.
Enforcing and adhering to company policies, rules, safety practices and regulations.
Use and follow our agency’s internal work order system.
Uses equipment, including but not limited to power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.

Qualifications
Minimum of High School diploma or GED
Have basic computer skills
Basic construction, electrical and plumbing skills
Understanding of federal and state building safety standards
Experience in building/residential housing maintenance or facilities a plus
Knowledge of OSHA universal precautions
Clean and valid NYS driver’s license a plus
Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of hand tools and small power tools.
Must have or obtain FDNY Certificate of Fitness (S95 and S12)
Position Status
This is a full-time non-exempt position.
It is stationed in Queens, NY but requires travel to other NYC boroughs and Long Island. The position expected base salary is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00/ year.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and outside in the field. There may be long periods of heavy lifting and standing. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
