Responsibilities
Will be required to provide services and support, not limited to, the following critical patient care areas: Emergency Department, Linen & Central Services, Pediatric & Neonatal & other Intensive Care Units, Inpatient care areas requiring overnight stays for patients, Psychiatric & Complex Intervention Units, Transplant Units, Labor & Delivery, Cath Labs, and a Heliport. Responsibilities include supporting the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) along with the areas and occupants of a Chapel and Convent. Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester is accredited by The Joint Commission. Staff will be expected to complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline. The timeline and PM completion rate is in alignment with The Joint Commission requirements. Technicians may be required to perform activities outside of their job classification. Operate, maintain, repair and diagnose complex, critical mechanical systems and portable equipment. Systems include air handling equipment, fire alarm systems, building automation systems, fluid pumping for cooling and heating, security card access, refrigeration, freezer alarm systems, boilers and other building electronic systems. The Preventative Maintenance duties include belt replacement, lubrication, filter changing, and pressure washing inside of air handling equipment. Respond, investigate and solve all emergency and repair calls received. Communicate with all maintenance shops with work order systems and communication with on call maintenance staff as necessary. May be required to work with others in planning and scheduling for modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption to the mission of our organization while meeting fiscal constraints. Is alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicates concern to appropriate personnel. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients. The Senior Building Systems Technician gives guidance to maintenance and security staff on facility issues.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or a two year degree from a technical college related to a Building Infrastructure System maintenance program or completion of a one-year trade-specific program. Four years of military experience in a related field will be considered in lieu of the educational experience requirements. Experience working with Computers and various building control systems. Electrical or Plumbing license helpful.

Compensation Detail
Compensation range is $25.53 -$39.79 / hour based upon union contract. Additional shift differential compensation is available based upon union contract.

Schedule Details
This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, 80 hours per pay period. The scheduled hours are typically 10 hour shifts; 6:00am – 4:30pm (Wednesday thru Saturday). Flexibility in scheduling is required for scheduled overtime, planned and unplanned absences, training, and holiday scheduling.
