Responsibilities

The Technology Manager is responsible for the roadmap and overall management of a technology portfolio of either applications or infrastructure components. The main competency of a Technology Manager center on the disciplines of technology management to ensure the portfolio effectively meets short and long term Mayo requirements. Technology Managers assess technology effectiveness to ensure alignment with performance, cost, architectural and business requirements. The Technology Manager develops short and long term plans working with the Office of IT Strategy and Architecture as well as the Office of Information Security to ensure the technology portfolio components align with overall direction and meets Mayo requirements. Technology Managers are responsible for developing high performance operations and developing tech culture based teams to delivery technology upgrades, enhancements, integrations and level three on call support while ensuring direct report development and training needs are met. Technology Managers provide structure, guidance and support for budgeting, capital, and Opex planning for delivery of technology. May serve as Secretary, Assistant Secretary or member of IT for institutional committees.

This is a full time remote position. Incumbent must live within the United States. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience, which includes 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience; Or, Associated Degree with 8 years of experience, which includes 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience and commitment to obtain a Bachelor's degree within 4 years. Experienced with committee- and consensus-managed, physician-led organization.

Other Qualifications: Requires skill in effective decision making and effective consensus management. Strong understanding of and experience in Technology Management disciplines. Strong understanding of finance, business processes, budgeting and human resources development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated history of continuing education in personnel and administrative processes. Experience with personnel

management, resource allocation, coaching and mentoring.

Master's degree preferred with 4 years of experience. Experience working in healthcare technology. Experience with managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied products and services. Experience in vendor management and negotiations. Some travel may be required in this position.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience leading teams who support system-to-system integrations.

  • Experience with Clarity, Azure DevOps work management system, and ServiceNow incident management system. Experience pulling and reporting metrics from all of these systems to support team activities.

  • Strong communication skills as well as experience managing multiple, overlapping projects in addition to daily operational activities.

  • Excellent Time Management skills will be essential.

  • Experience leading teams that are made up of a mix of permanent staff and contractors residing in multiple locations, both on-shore and off-shore.

  • Experience working with multiple key customers and Vendors.

  • Demonstrated abilities using Agile methodologies.
