Responsibilities

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective, ongoing, data-driven quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program according to the specific regulations of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and/or other internal and external quality oversight groups for the specialty. Serves as a member of the Leadership team with a primary focus on quality improvement, planning and implementation of policies and systems. Assists Leadership team in Joint Commission accreditation efforts Supports the specialty in analyzing current practice patterns, identifying areas for improvement through ongoing audits of interdisciplinary team clinical practices, and developing methods to help implement and evaluate improvement changes. Provides system support to all staff in the areas of practice analysis, analytics, and improvement. Provides facilitation, data collection and reporting of quality improvement activities. Meets annually and reports to the designated oversight group as determined by the specialty. Provides education and training regarding quality improvement, accreditation standards, internal process improvements, and external regulatory requirements (i.e., TJC, CMS, etc.). Oversees contracts with skilled nursing facilities, providers of durable medical equipment, pharmacy or other contractors for the specialty, as well as database vendors.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.

Responsible for providing support to select related quality, compliance, and regulatory programs in Rochester/Kasson Primary Care as it relates to nursing including continued readiness for Joint Commission accreditation surveys, maintaining MDH Healthcare Home Certification, and Nurse Sensitive Measures for Magnet recognition. In addition, this leader will collaborate with RST/KA leadership and staff in nurse's role in the implementation, performance evaluation, and improvement of select services. This includes activities such as designing studies and data collection tools and the ability to evaluate implementation overall process outcomes. This leader will assist staff in the development of performance improvement processes, partnering closely with primary care Quality program leadership.

Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree in nursing and a Master's degree in nursing, business or health care administration. Minimum of five years clinical experience. Ambulatory care, home care or experience in the specialty is helpful. Demonstrated leadership qualities with exceptional oral and written communication skills required. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision. Routine travel will be required within the region or to external meetings. Knowledge of the Mayo Health System is beneficial. Must have broad-based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, and software. Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement concepts required. Must possess a current RN license by applicable State requirements. Current driver's license essential.
