University of Rochester Bench Tech Clin Engineering in Rochester, New York

POSITION SUMMARY:

With general direction and latitude for initiative and judgment, performs routine and non-routine duties related to the repair of basic to medium complexity medical device inspections and repair. Includes but not limited to Infusion devices, Hyper/Hypothermia machines, Thermometry, Sequential Compression devices, Real Time Location System (RTLS) Tags, etc.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Performs safety/preventive maintenance inspections on basic to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment, to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry technical standards and specifications. (25%)

  • Maintains and calibrates basic to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications. (25%)

  • Troubleshoots, isolates equipment malfunctions and repairs basic to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment. (20%)

  • Maintains electronic medical equipment management database files for compliance with departmental and accreditation requirements. (10%)

  • Provide absence/vacation coverage for finance clerk and clerical staff to ensure seamless packing list/invoice matching and phone coverage for work order dispatch. (10%)

  • Administrative duties related to training, documentation, etc. (5%)

  • Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • AAS degree in Electronic or Instrumentation Technology with particular focus on Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred.

  • 1 years of practical experience in building and/or maintenance of electronic instruments, apparatus or equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience in healthcare and technology fields preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.50 - $24.05 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
