Description
The Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester is located alongside the Erie Canal in Brighton and is a 200,000 square foot facility that houses our state of the art fitness, wellness and recreation programming, an aquatics center, a Professional Theatre (live stream), Children’s Center and our Premier Camping Program! We are currently accepting applications for part-time positions forSwim Instructors. If you're a motivated team player and enjoy working in a community fitness , we want you to apply! We maintain a strong customer service focus in everything we do and are looking for collaborative and community-minded team players who can make our aquatics spaces a safe and fun place to work and play.
Job Type: Part-time, Hourly
Schedule / Possible Shifts Include:
Tuesdays: 4:00 PM to 7:15 PM
Thursdays: 4:00 PM to 7:15 PM
Sundays: 10:00a - 12:30p
Candidates with year-round availability will be highly prioritized over seasonal only candidates.
Instructor duties include, but are not limited to:
Teaching swim lessons that cover a broad range of skills for students all ages
Maintaining an accurate log of student progression throughout the course of a session (6 - 8 weeks)
Interacting positively with both students and parents to keep them engaged in the lessons
Organizing and disinfecting pool areas as necessary between and after lessons
Maintaining all relevant certifications
In addition to the typical duties of a swim instructor, we have added some responsibilities related to the NYS COVID-19 response guidelines. Instructors may wear face shields or masks while teaching.
Lifeguard cross-training and work opportunities are also available.

Pay Range: $18.00+
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age
Previous swim instructor or swim team experience is preferred.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) training will be required in order to qualify as an instructor. The JCC can provide access to this training.
