Week 2: 6:45-3:15 M, 9a-5:30p Th-F

Week 4: 9-5:30 M, 9a-5:30p F, 6:45-3:15 Sa
Training: Must be able to commit to first two weeks of full time, M-F, 8a-430p training first two weeks only.

About the Position:
In an outpatient and emergency setting, greets patients and family members and obtains and verifies demographic, clinical, financial and insurance information in the process of registering patients for service delivery. Enters patient/guarantor data in patient accounting system; collects patient signatures on forms; and scans registration documents. Obtains and processes signed physician orders, conducts online insurance eligibility/benefit verification on designated cases, notifies patient/guarantor and collects patient liabilities, and refers appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation. May provide escort and directional support to patients, family members and visitors. Enhances the patient experience throughout all patient interactions, the majority of which are face-to-face.
Requirements:
Required: High school diploma. Preferred: Associate’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minutes). Prefer one year of applicable experience in a healthcare provider or payer environment.
Must have fluid experience with various software programs and ability use multiple systems to obtain or validate information during the interview process.
Basic computer skills. Preferred: Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Required: Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. Interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external customers, including ability to interpret customer needs, recommend and take action to satisfy the customer’s needs. Accuracy, attentiveness to detail and time management skills.
