This position combines the roles of appointment scheduling and medical receptionist, responsible for greeting patients with a pleasant and professional demeanor, managing paperwork including insurance information, and collecting patient monetary responsibilities. The role also involves managing calls, scheduling appointments, and obtaining authorizations from insurance companies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competence and, preferably, be bilingual in English and Spanish to ensure a positive and efficient experience for everyone in our medical office. [**Job Title:Patient Service Specialist

[**Location: Rockville, MD 20850

[**Position Type: Onsite Part-Time, 24-29 hrs week. Full time, promotion, and benefits eligible after 3-4 months.

[**Schedule: Monday 8am-5pm, Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-5pm. Every Other Saturday 8am-1pm. No Holidays.

[**Compensation: $15/hr

[Patient Check-in and Check-out:]{new="" roman="" times=""}

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and welcoming manner.
  • Assist patients with the registration process and verify/update their information.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the check-out process, including collecting payments and issuing receipts.

[Telephone, Fax, Mail and Front Desk Management:]{new="" roman="" times=""}

  • Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor, and sort incoming faxes; Send outgoing faxes as directed.
  • Sort and deliver mail to appropriate staff.
  • Manage the front desk area, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Handle inquiries and provide information about the medical office services.

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments using the electronic scheduling system.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments and provide necessary reminders to patients.

Verify patient insurance information and ensure accurate documentation.

Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and related billing processes.
