Chicago Tube and Iron Inventory Analyst in Romeoville, Illinois

Our Chicago Division, located in Romeoville, Illinois, is seeking an Inventory Analyst to join their team.

JOB DUTIES:

The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in monitoring and maintaining appropriate levels of both common and special inventory for the branch.

Specific job duties include:

  • Review the forecasts of major customers and takes appropriate actions to ensure appropriate stock levels.

  • Review orders placed by Corporate Purchasing Department and Transfer Shipments from other branch locations.

  • Manage aging inventory.

  • Monitor open PO’s for the possibility of canceling or moving out; expedite as necessary.

  • Determine if mill overages will be accepted and handle already received overages.

  • Update stock screen memos and reserves.

  • Communicates effectively with the transportation personnel.

  • Acts as backup for the Sales Assistants as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of business-related experience in the metals industry. This position requires an aggressive self-starter who is goal-oriented and a team player. The successful candidate must possess proven analytical skills, have advanced knowledge of MS Excel, high attention to detail, and effective communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field of study is preferred.
