Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Systems Engineering Manager 2 specializing in Modeling, Simulation and Analysis. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel Program.

What You’ll Get To Do

The successful applicant will:

  • Develop Payload models to simulate and evaluate hardware performance

  • Perform model validation of various Payloads through test and analysis

  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for missile system payloads

  • Verify Payload specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis

  • Create technical reports and present analysis results

  • Support department initiatives; technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership

  • Support employee development; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute programs

  • Support staffing and workload forecast; Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and contract maintenance for the contractors working in the business area

  • Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering functions

  • Interface with AF customer

  • Develop schedules to meet contractual requirements

  • Utilize earned value management techniques to measure and report on program performance

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Job Qualifications

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years related experience or Masters Degree in STEM and 3 years related experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years.

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

  • Experience identifying requirements for an electrical subsystem or battery

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation

  • Experience working cooperatively with professionals representing multiple engineering and non-engineering disciplines

  • Experience preparing for and participating in design reviews

  • Experience developing and/or performing verification and/or test plans and procedures

  • Earned Value and/or Cost Account Management (CAM) experience

  • Aircraft, missile, spacecraft, or battery production experience

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards for electrical power and environmental compliance

  • Experience working in an Agile team

  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool

  • Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) preferably Cameo

Salary Range: $131,200 - $196,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
