California Dental Association Insurance Account Manager - Alternate Market in Sacramento, California

This is a remote position. Pay range: $50,000 - $60,000

Job Purpose  

This position is responsible for providing exceptional account management of the P & C sales, service, and retention of the non-TDIC book of business.  The Account Manager works closely with the Carrier Relations Account Manager, as well as the Sales and Service team to provide quotes, renewal processes, and tracking of results.  The Account Manager acts as a subject matter expert to the sales and service teams for the non-TDIC carriers, insurance product knowledge, and processes. Responsibility to accuracy of the process including data integrity of the CRM and Agency Management system.

  • Process owner of Non-TDIC policy renewals with responsibility in securing renewal annually through new application or monitoring of auto-renewed book of business. Including tracking and reporting.

  • Works closely with the Sales & Service Regional teams to provide Non-TDIC new policy quotes and carrier application submissions.

  • Responds to telephone calls and written requests regarding TDICIS policy coverage questions, premiums, eligibility, rates, account status, claims, billing, policy changes, and benefits as needed to maintain service objectives. 

  • Investigates and resolves customer problems and disputes in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Provides a high level of service to CDA members and TDICIS clients.

  • Conducts outbound calls as necessary to service, secure renewal and retention of TDICIS policyholders.

  • Works as a cohesive team to achieve department objectives.

  • Supports workflow processing as subject matter expert.

  • Provides lead support for temporary project service teams as assigned.

  • Responds to escalated/complex service issues for all brokerage lines of coverage.

  • Handles escalated/complex service issues for all brokerage lines of coverage.

  • Cross sells all appropriate product lines including TDIC, Non-TDIC and referrals to Health Care Team.

  • Supports ongoing benchmarks for:

  • Retention

  • Controllable carrier submission pend ratios

  • Revenue goals Sales Pipeline development

  • New Business Submission goals for all lines of business

  • Customer response and call monitoring

  • Accurately tracks all prospect management through CRM database system.

  • Creates and sustains long-term working relationships with valued CDA members, and TDICIS Clients.

  • Conducts consistent follow up with prospective clients both on the phone and via email.

  • Interacts with Member’s, Client’s, and prospective clients at industry tradeshows, and occasional networking events.

  • Participates in pre-arranged marketing campaigns and tracking activities as assigned.

    Secondary Role

  • Sells all product lines with a primary focus on Core Products – TDIC Optimum Bundle, Business Overhead Expense and Disability Insurance.

  • Becomes a product expert for all coverage lines for P&C and L&H.

  • Effectively works with interdependent departments and outside carriers to efficiently process application submissions.

    Non-Essential Functions

  • Backup to the Carrier Relations Account Manager.

  • Participates in special projects or assignments as directed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Education, Licenses & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Active P&C and Life & Health agent licenses or obtain within 3 months of hire.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance field.

  • Ability to manage a large volume of inbound and outbound calls, track and document follow up communication, and deliver premier customer service.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance policies and coverages for disability insurance, in order to assess needs and make recommendations on coverage.

  • Ability to operate independently, exercising good judgement and professionalism.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient computer skills, including, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Positive attitude, motivated and a passion for helping people.

    Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field recommended or equivalent experience.

  • Sales or Account Manager experience in the commercial insurance field.
