Elk County Housing Authority Housekeeping Maintenance in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania

The Maintenance/Housekeeping is responsible for various housekeeping activities in apartments, buildings, grounds, and equipment owned and/or managed by the Housing Authority.

The Maintenance/Housekeeping employee performs the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities:

Common Areas

  1. Vacuum and mop floors;
  2. Empty garbage containers;
  3. Clean and sanitize public restrooms;
  4. Clean and sanitize common areas, including the front porch and balcony areas;
  5. Clean and sanitize office area;
  6. Stock supplies;
  7. Clean windows;
  8. Launder cleaning towels;
  9. Other general cleaning;
  10. All areas must be in a neat and clean appearance;
  11. Prepare vacant units for tenancy -- all areas must be neat and clean appearance
  12. All walls must be clean and free of dirt, grease, holes, cobwebs, and fingerprints;
  13. Ceilings are to be clean and free of cobwebs;
  14. All floors are to be clean, dry, and free of hazards, including corners;
  15. Windows are to be clean and free of watermarks, fingerprints, streaks, and debris;
  16. Woodwork is to be clean and free of grease and fingerprints;
  17. Heating units be dusted and free of debris;

Bathrooms

  1. Sweep and mop the floor. All surfaces shall be dry and clean of debris;
  2. Porcelainware cleaning includes washbasins, toilets, tubs, and tile. No dust, spots, stains, rust, mold, encrustation, or excess moisture when complete;
  3. Damp wiping of the mirror. Mirrors shall be clean of dirt and grime;
  4. Walls, vents, and baseboards are to be free of dirt, gum, grease, tar, etc.;
  5. Corners will be dry and clean of debris;

Kitchens

  1. Sweep and mop the floor. All surfaces shall be dry and free of debris;
  2. Stove and oven surface free of food and grease, including interior and exterior;
  3. Refrigerator/freezer must be free of dirt, streaks, food particles, etc., interior and exterior;
  4. Cabinets/counters must be free of grease, dirt, food particles, etc., interior and exterior;
  5. Exhaust fan must be clean and free of grease and dust;
  6. Sink will be clean and free of dirt, water streaks, grease, grime, etc.;
  7. Storage areas must be clean and free of dirt, dust, food particles, and grime;
  8. Storage areas will be clean and free of dirt, dust, streaks, spots, food particles and grime;

General

  1. Participate in periodic staff meetings and/or training to ensure all functions are being carried out following Housing Authority policies;
  2. Keep supervisor apprised as to work activities;
  3. Recommend programs and/or activities that will meet the needs of the housing community;
