Volt Maintenance Parts Clerk in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Manager Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm. Overtime and weekends may be required based on business needs. Position Summary: The Maintenance Parts Clerk is responsible for receiving shipments from vendors, verifying the accuracy of packing slips and invoices, and maintaining appropriate records. This role involves issuing parts to open work orders, maintaining an updated inventory of parts in the parts room and remote storage locations, and ensuring a clean and orderly parts room. Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Promote a "safety first" culture within the Maintenance Team and across all departments.
  • Parts Issuance: Issue replacement parts to mechanics and assist in parts selection.
  • Order Fulfillment: Assemble and fill orders as requested, issuing parts to open computer work orders.
  • Hazardous Materials: Comply with regulations for handling hazardous materials and obtain Material Safety Data Sheets as required.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor re-order levels, replenish inventory, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Cycle Counts: Perform timely cycle counts and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Parts Addition: Add parts to inventory with all associated information, such as Min, Max, Associated Asset, and default supplier.
  • Order Tracking: Track all open purchase orders and update work orders with expected part arrival dates.
  • Collaboration: Work with technicians to formulate clear part descriptions for the CMMS system.
  • System Updates: Update work orders and purchase orders in the CMMS and Procurement systems with new part or contractor information.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience: 2-4 years as a Maintenance Parts Clerk.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with CMMS, MRP, and SAP planning systems.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Inventory Experience: Strong background in inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Coordination Skills: Proven ability to plan and coordinate across multiple functional groups, align objectives, and keep deliverables on track.
