Actalent Senior Cyber Security Engineer in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Job Description:
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, your job is to work with the Building Automation System (BAS) team to find and fix security risks. You’ll do this by:
Running security checks to find threats and weak spots.
Working with other team members to make sure our products are safe.
Creating methods for building secure systems.
Helping teams understand security risks and how to fix them.
Keeping track of security issues and making sure they’re fixed quickly.
Making sure our products meet security rules and regulations.
Training and mentoring others on security matters.
Working with outside companies to get security tools and services.
Working with other teams on security tasks.
Managing outside partners who provide security services.
Finding and fixing design issues that could make our products less secure.
Making decisions to reduce the company’s security risks.
Taking part in efforts to fix serious security issues.
Checking that our security testing is good enough.
Qualifications:
You should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field with a focus on cybersecurity. You should also have:
8+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
5+ years of experience in Product Security, Security Architecture, and Security Assessment.
A strong understanding of how operational technology works.
A strong knowledge of current security threats and techniques, and a desire to keep learning about them.
A strong knowledge of OpenSSL, TLS mutual authentication, PKI, digital signatures, and certificate management.
Experience or knowledge of security controls.
Good knowledge of security containers and DevSecOps principles.
Technical understanding of cloud-native architecture and engineering best practices (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with OWASP Top 10 for web applications.
Knowledge of penetration testing techniques, application security vulnerabilities, OWASP Top 10, SANS 25, CWE, etc.
Knowledge of Security Industry Standards and Frameworks: e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC, GDPR, SOC2
