Position
SAS has an opening for a Carpenter Helper. This position is Full-Time and is expected to work at least 40 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities
Assist Carpentry team with building various fixtures, displays, and assorted wood products by following blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions, using shop tools and equipment, then measuring results against standards.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Clean work areas, tools, and equipment to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
Operate hand and power tools under supervision to perform basic carpentry and handyman tasks.
Learn and apply carpentry techniques and best practices under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to work under supervision or independently with solid follow through.
Able to accept and follow instructions.
Mature, responsible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Attention to detail with the ability to plan before doing.
Have good eye-hand coordination.
Excellent job performance and attendance.
Fast learner and goal oriented with attention to detail.
Respectful and caring to coworkers, team and the company.
Mature, responsible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit or stand/walk for 8 – 10 hours.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
Education & Experience Requirements
Familiarity with carpentry shop tools, such as jointers, planers, power saws, sanders and other miscellaneous hand tools.
Bilingual is a plus
