Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan.Receptionist/OperatorWorks under the supervision of the Risk Manager. Provides continuous communications for the San Antonio State Hospital on a multi-line console panel and performs receptionist duties for the agency. Work involves answering, placing, and transferring calls. Places conference calls, uses and monitors two way radios, receives visitors, and provides general information. This position supports a 24/7/365 departmental operation and requires significant schedule flexibility including occasional overtime, coverage for vacations, holidays, and unanticipated absences. The various 8-hour shifts.Position may be required to work 7am-3pm,3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am when needed. Essential Job Functions1. Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.2. Answers incoming calls to the Mitel PBX System and assists in placing long distance calls, conference calls, etc.3. Operates Verizon Radio and Paging system.4. Monitors emergency generators and fire alarms panels for SASH.5. Maintains and issues master keys for SASH staff as needed.6. Although prior switchboard and/or call center experience is desired, training may be provided to a highly qualified candidate possessing a combination of education, training, experience, and schedule flexibility.7. This position requires strong oral and written communication skills throughout all levels of the organization, with our patients, vendors, and visitors.8. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsNoneKnowledge Skills Abilities1. Working knowledge of PBX operations, paging system and radio communications equipment.2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.4. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.5. Works effectively alone as well as with co-workers, supervisor and the general public. Initial Screening Criteria1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED.2. At least three years' experience preferred.
