BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Senior Audit Control Analyst in San Antonio, Texas

Job Description Summary

The Senior Audit Control Analyst plays an integral part in all internal and external audit engagements impacting BD North America. This role requires strong accounting skills, working knowledge of BD’s North America SOX Controls, excellent organizational skills, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

This role is expected to collaborate with different departments, arrange and lead meetings, track and follow up on all audit requests until completion, and help identify and support process improvements based on risk assessments and audit findings. With different levels of participation, the Senior Audit Control Analyst will assist in various projects to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for understanding BD’s North America SOX Control framework, including the risks each control mitigates and the audit testing environment.

  • Review and provide guidance for all substantive audit requests. Escalate to the appropriate team if necessary. Monitor all audit requests to completion.

  • Support activities related to internal audits, Retirement & Benefit audits, SOC1, UAR, and IT audits. This includes determining appropriate contacts, coordinating calls, mapping audits to current SOX controls, and remediating findings with BD management.

  • Provide oversight and guidance to multiple audit engagements simultaneously.

  • Key personnel to help solve access problems related to ERPs and non-SAP platforms (ServiceNow, BuySmart, Blackline, C2C, etc.).

  • Participate in user access analysis and work with process owners to mitigate the risk of inappropriate system access and Segregation of Duties conflicts.

  • Support and participate in various projects across business units as needed.

Required Skills:

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills using top-down and lateral communication strategies.

· Relationship management experience with an ability to deliver difficult messages effectively and timely.

· Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Ability to apply judgment to provide efficient and effective solutions.

· Lead, coordinate, and track multiple ongoing projects and audits across business functions.

· Facilitate discussions, conduct group meetings, and drive initiatives to conclusion.

Education & Qualification:

· Undergraduate Degree in Accounting required. MBA or CPA certification (or equivalent) a plus.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: intermediate Excel proficiency required.

· Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system) highly preferred.

· Six Sigma/Lean or continuous improvement certifications a plus.

· Demonstrated ability to embody servant leadership principles
