Position Overview:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a motivated and experienced project engineer to support an Executive Transport Program in San Antonio, Texas. The selected candidate will serve as an engineering integrator and will work closely with the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Program Associate Chief Engineer in Oklahoma City to integrate across the San Antonio & Oklahoma City engineering teams, interface and support San Antonio operations teams, provide shipside support during aircraft modification, analyze & measure performance, resolve issues, and help drive execution of the GFE engineering statement of work. This position requires daily onsite support in San Antonio, Texas.

The ideal candidate will have a background across multiple disciplines, experience with modification and integration activities, strong communication skills, strong data analytic skills, the ability to execute independently, and the ability to brief and engage with senior and executive leaders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the GFE Associate Chief Engineering to execute and integrate the engineering scope of work

  • Represent the GFE Program during daily onsite operation tag-ups with senior leadership to coordinate priorities, help needed, issues, and status

  • Coordinate and assess changes to manage technical baselines and manage interfaces across IPTs

  • Facilitate engineering integration across all engineering Integrated Product Teams

  • Maintain and analyze performance metrics and recommend actions to remove barriers and improve performance

  • Brief program management and customers during weekly and quarterly reviews

  • Provide shipside support, as needed, to resolve issues and communicate help needed

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Prior experience analyzing data and making data-driven decisions

  • Prior experience interacting between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

  • Prior knowledge of tasking performed throughout engineering development lifecycle (requirements, design, software, test & integration)

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • 3+ years of experience with the interrelationships between components of systems and plans, anticipating future events, and applying the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skill/Experience):

  • This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with aircraft production

  • Project leadership experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $114,750 - $155,250
