Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$40.421 - $52.157 - $63.892

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Provide for the integration of medical equipment selection and procurement into Sharp's design and construction program. Facilitate the 'standardization' of equipment between hospital entities as appropriate to maximize efficiencies and reduce overall acquisition costs. Work with the medical equipment planners on the various projects to finalize medical equipment plans, specifications and room data sheets. Ensure 'Just In Time' procurement of Architecturally Significant Equipment (ASE) for all major facility projects. Ensure coordination on shared tasks and schedules between SCS and FMD.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have prior experience in health care FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) project coordination or related experience.

  • Experience in healthcare equipment and supplies procurement.

  • Experience with providing medical equipment procurement services for major construction projects and working with very complex detailed equipment requirements.

  • Experience with reviewing architectural plans to ensure proper space planning for equipment functionality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) - Various-Employee provides certificate -PREFERRED

Must demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:Knowledge of hospital medical equipment procurement and negotiation.Knowledge of procurement requirements.Knowledge of Architecturally Significant Equipment construction requirements, including: complete descriptions in plan and specifications and review of equipment submittals/cut sheets.Knowledge of low voltage coordination requirements in order to ensure all appropriate equipment features/parts (hardware/software) are procured in order to properly integrate and operate the equipment.Knowledge of architectural drawings, with demonstrated track-record of the review, identification and correction of issues as needed for medical equipment.

Observes safety practices and keeps surrounding work environment clean and free of hazards and debris.Demonstrated knowledge of all infection control requirements for the construction site in question; and knowledge of the 'room ready' manufacture's requirements for the placement of the each ASE equipment.Demonstrates knowledge of all Materiel Safety Data Sheets as evidenced by locating the MSDS book and being able to instruct and direct co-workers in the interpretation and use of MSDS sheets.Demonstrate knowledge in areas of safe materials handling, and the safe operation of warehouse equipment.

  • Work responsibilitiesFollows hospital and system policies and procedures in the following areas:Acts as a resource to facility leadership and physicians.Maintains equipment budgets for assigned major facility projects.Notifies SCS and FMD management when a problem arises with respect to ASE equipment on an assigned facility project.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and contractual negotiation skills required.

  • Coordinate materials management protocols and schedules with design and construction teams on numerous projects.

  • Provide clinical users with guidance and insight on equipment features and Sharp’s equipment standards.

  • Demonstrate excellent computer skills in Materiel Management information system and E-mail systems, experience with business software (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) preferred; and provide excellent leadership and customer service skills.
