Robert Half Tax Manager/ Suprevisor in San Francisco, California

Description

We are in search of a Tax Manager or Supervisor to join our team in San Francisco, California. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality tax services, accounting and consulting work for the firm’s clients, in compliance with tax regulations and GAAP. Further, he\she is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with clients and providing exceptional client service. The Supervisor works with managers, seniors, professional staff, and clients to complete engagements effectively. He\she supervises, trains, and develops the firm’s seniors and professional staff under the guidance of Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the tax compliance and consulting processes.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Technical Expertise – The Supervisor is responsible for providing quality tax and accounting services to clients in compliance with tax regulations and GAAP. He\She applies current regulations and law to client engagements; actively work with seniors and staff to develop professional acumen. The Supervisor stays current on regulatory and industry changes affecting clients.

  2. Client Relations – The Supervisor is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and providing exceptional client service. He\She serves as the primary client contact on engagements and identifies ways to provide additional and better service to clients.

  3. Engagement Management - The Supervisor works with managers, professional staff, and clients to complete engagements effectively. The Supervisor assists the manager in planning, budgeting, and organizing client engagements. He\She delegates appropriately to seniors and staff; gives clear and precise direction, explains purpose and goal of each task, and manages staff and client expectations.

  4. Staff\Professional Development – The Supervisor oversees the technical training of staff and assumes responsibility for professional self development. He\She provides effective coaching and timely feedback to develop staff and determines personal career path at the firm.

    Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates for this position require at least four years of significant tax and accounting experience.

Specific knowledge skills and abilities required include the following:

  1. Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal staff and clients.

  2. Tax\Accounting – Strong knowledge of tax regulations and GAAP.

  3. Technical – Strong command of tax and accounting software including ProSystems fx Tax and Engagement, computer spreadsheet applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

  4. Education – Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, and active CPA license or close to completion of CPA licensure requirements.

  5. Management Skills – Excellent organizational and prioritization skills in managing multiple projects\staff within accepted budgets and on deadline. Developing and maintaining positive client relationships as well as with staff.
