We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our  Pharmacy team!

About the Role:

As a Veterinary Pharmacy Technician with VSHNC, you will play a vital role in supporting animals' healthcare needs by ensuring efficient and accurate preparation, dispensing, and management of medications. Working closely with veterinarians and veterinary staff, you will help to maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 8:00 am - 6:30 PM

Compensation: $21.75 - $26.75 Depending on credentialing 

Responsibilities:

  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense medications as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring correct dosages and administration instructions.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage stock levels to ensure the availability of essential medications.

  • Prescription Processing: Process prescriptions, verify patient information and ensure compliance with veterinary laws and regulations.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions regarding medications, usage, and potential side effects.

  • Quality Control: Implement and adhere to quality control procedures to ensure the safety and efficacy of all dispensed medications.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all pharmaceutical transactions, including prescriptions filled and inventory changes.

  • Collaboration: Work with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient pharmacy operations.

  • Client Education and Training: Assist in educating pet owners on medication administration and safety, and stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical developments and practices.

    Qualifications:

  • Licensing: Current RVT or VASCP

  • Experience: 2 years experience in a veterinary or pharmacy setting is preferred.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with veterinary medications, dosages, and pharmaceutical regulations.
