Robert Half Accounting Administrator in San Mateo, California

Description

Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Administrator who will be responsible for managing the financial tasks of our optometry office client. Duties include handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with QuickBooks and Excel, and the ability to work efficiently in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, obtain necessary approvals, and prepare payments. Ensure timely and accurate recording of all transactions.

  • Generate and send invoices to patients and insurance companies, track receivables, follow up on overdue accounts, and apply payments.

  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and ensure accuracy in QuickBooks and Excel.

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and patient accounts on a monthly basis.

  • Track and categorize expenses, ensuring all financial data is accurate and properly documented.

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.

  • Handle billing to insurance companies, including claims submission and follow-up on unpaid claims.

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, document preparation, and data management.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • Previous experience in an accounting or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
