Nvidia Principal Verification Engineer - Random Test Generators in Santa Clara, California

NVIDIA is currently seeking a verification engineer with strong fundamentals of design verification methodology and random test generators for CPU products. This role provides an amazing opportunity to get first-hand experience in NVIDIA's CPU product line and drive test generation technology within NVIDIA for current and future generations of CPUs. What you'll be doing:

  • Design and Implement Random test generation tools for NVIDIA CPU roadmap and drive quality initiatives through verification methodology

  • Apply latest SW development practices for random test generation tool development

  • Apply HW architecture knowledge to add and continuously improve features for effectiveness of random stimulus generation

  • Provide high quality documentation and support for tool user community within the team, including training for verification engineers as needed

  • Collaborate with global architecture/design/verification teams for execution and prioritization

  • Drive continuous improvement of workflows/processes

What we need to see:

  • 15+ years of work experience in a verification domain and/or SW tool development

  • PhD or Master's or Bachelor's degree in EE/CS or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Strong understanding of SW development standard processes with hands-on programming experience with Object-oriented concepts, tool chain, SW build and debug

  • Knowledge of CPU and System level architecture/microarchitecture for any industry standard architecture, having knowledge of Arm architecture is a big plus.

  • Knowledge of processor design concepts like, pipelines, caches, virtual memory systems, coherency etc.

  • Strong SW and HW debugging skills and familiarity with latest tools and techniques

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability & desire to work as a great teammate across the globally distributed team are a must

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Consistent track record of developing and supporting a random test generator

  • Experience on Emulation, FPGA and Silicon platform for tool development and debug

The base salary range is 232,000 USD - 356,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
