Key job responsibilities

As an SDE2 you will be responsible for building new features on a low latency, high through put streaming service that powers the Amazon Rufus CX.

  • You will own the features end to end and deliver high quality, testable code at a rapid pace.

  • You will be part of Amazon's journey to deliver a brand new shopping assistant to our customers

A day in the life

On a daily basis a SDE2 could be

  • part of multiple partner meetings to align with our service interfaces or changes to them

  • focusing on deep logs analysis for troubleshooting an millisecond level latency issue.

  • writing a meaty chunk of code for a customer feature.

  • review your peer's code and participate in collaborative discussions with other team members to improve the code and operational health.

About the team

We are the Nile CX Orchestrator team, we own the service that powers Rufus CX and provide orchestration platform for Amazon's Shopping Assistant.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Santa Clara, CA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
