WESCO Vendor Managed Inventory Driver in Santa Clara, California

As a Vendor Managed Inventory Driver, you’ll be part of an exciting new initiative servicing a multinational Fortune 100 technology company. You will be responsible for delivering an assortment of PPE (personal protective equipment) to customer sites, checking and replenishing stock in on-site vending machines for customer purchase. A limited amount of maintenance on vending machines may be required. In this customer-facing position, you can be expected to represent Wesco, answer questions and relay information from the customer. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver product from local warehouse to customer site, may be required to pick and pack product for delivery.

  • Maintain on-site daily product replenishment, reporting and analysis to ensure supply chain controls.

  • Note quantity of items for delivery to each account to ensure proper product inventory is maintained.

  • Ensure actual inventory count and communicate with warehouse personnel.

  • Interface with customers to evaluate needs or concerns and communicate back to Wesco.

  • Assist with on-site product location and identification.

  • Communicate changes, shortages, and concerns directly to customers and Wesco leadership.

  • Answer questions from customer on Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) utilization.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred

  • 1 year of electrical, construction, or mechanical products required, 2 years preferred.

  • 1 year of resolving technical, equipment, and service-related issues, 2 years preferred.

  • Ability to meet emerging customer needs. Including strong customer service background.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required to be able to drive company vehicle

  • Drive company vehicle for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts.

  • Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potential accounts.

  • Ability to use win-win approach to resolve controversy, stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive situations, and maintain constructive working relationships.

  • Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Able to multi-task.

  • Able to use hand tools and heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.)

  • Ability to work in team environment.

  • Ability to travel 75% - 100%

Working Environment : Outside Sales – Work is generally performed in an office environment, but employee may need to travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities. Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
