UCLA Health RN - Homeless Healthcare Collaborative in Santa Monica, California

The

Homeless Healthcare Collaborative is seeking an RN to assist our clinical

outreach. The role of the RN will include providing care to people experiencing

homelessness as part of a Multidisiplinary team in various settings including

on the streets, in encampments, at interim housing/shelter sites, and at

community health and resource fairs.

The

Community Care Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical expert with the care

delivery and care management of people experiencing homelessness in the

community setting. The RN utilizes in-depth skills and critical thinking

assessments of the patients' holistic needs clinically and psychosocially. This

position involves close collaboration with physicians, social workers, and

other health professionals. As a clinical expert, the role will mentor and

improve the skill level of colleagues and staff from referring institutions.

This position will also include sharing the responsibility for driving the

Community Care Van.

Please

note, shifts will be 8 hours and may start as early as 7:00am or as late as

1:00pm. All RNs are assigned to work at least two weekend shifts per month.

Schedules will be provided in advance.

Salary Range: $59.46 - $88.39 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • California RN License

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)

  • BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

  • California Driver's License (Position is subject to the California DMV's 'Pull Notice System' and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.)

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills to work with minimal to moderate supervision.

  • Skill in working as part of a team and maintaining cooperative working relationships with members of UCLA Health staff, community and campus partners, sponsors, and the Los Angeles community.

  • Skill in working independently to complete multiple and complex tasks in an environment with rapid changes in priorities.

  • Ability to attend to detail and extract data and document medical events with high fidelity.

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or underserved populations

  • Skills in reading and understanding parking signs.

  • Ability to transport staff, equipment, and supplies in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in the community setting.

  • Experience working in low or under-resourced setting.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) oral communication skills.
