Systems Engineer

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes

  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering. Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency

  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.

  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems

  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems

  • Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance

  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers

  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience of 5+ years.

  • Required Experience: Advanced understanding of DISA guidance; Extensive practical experience with implementing STIG compliance checklists; Comprehensive understanding of the Risk Management Framework

  • Required Technical Skills: Technical expert in SQL; SolarWinds; HBSS; Professional Certification in one or more specific technologies may be required to meet DoD Approved RMF Baseline Certifications

  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Superb communication skills; strong ability to advise and educate a technical team to complete the mission; Strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines to remain compliant

The likely salary range for this position is $76,690 - $88,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
