Job Summary This position is responsible for managing accounting operations. Primary responsibilities include providing hands-on management and oversight of accounts payable and travel and expense activities, including related accounting, corporate credit cards and development and enforcement of business expense policy. This position makes decisions on work impacting their own team and advises leadership on issues and recommendations impacting the broader business. Essential Responsibilities Accounts Payable, Corporate Credit Cards & Business Expenses Manage accounts payable activity, including reviewing, auditing expense reports and credit cards and coding invoices; provide back-up support as needed. Review weekly check run for accuracy and ensure payments are made to terms of contract (if applicable). Develop and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, internal departments, teams, leaders, and external entities. Oversee required due diligence in the vendor setup process, including IRS, OIG and SAM matches. Recommend, lead implementation, and manage corporate credit card and business expense policies. General Ledger Maintenance & Analysis Manage general ledger operations and analyses; may prepare general ledger entries and estimates on a limited basis as needed. Review and approve journal entries prepared by team. Review reconciliations and ensure appropriate corrections are made; may prepare account reconciliations on a limited basis as needed. Operationalize new accounting transactions or requirements as needed for business operations. Serve as a resource for company leadership and staff related to finance policies. Reporting Review monthly OIG/SAM reporting and manage and review annual 1099 and 1042 IRS filings. Develop and review reports for ad-hoc requests using Excel or accounting software; run and review routine reports. Maintain, create, and review financial reports in reporting software. Administration & Planning Participate in 1:1's, team, department. and all staff meetings. Participate in business planning and budgeting; manage team budget. Develop and refine policies and processes; lead implementation and change management. Participate in broader, functional discussions and initiatives across departments; develop internal and/or external partnerships that leverage resources and improve department responsiveness. Employee Supervision Manage team and recommend team direction and goals in alignment with the organizational mission, vision, and values. Identify work and staffing needs to meet work expectations; recruit and hire, using an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens.
