Blue Origin LLC Additive Process Engineer III in Seattle, Washington

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, maintainers and engineers, you will help to enable new spaceflight designs by supporting the production of Metallic Additivley Manufactured (AM) components. Our team uses process development, root cause and corrective action and continuous improvement to drive Blue Origin's bold mission! Our team achieves this by bringing new machines, materials, processing methods, and support equipment to a production state. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Understand the AM value stream from start to finish including printing, post processing, thermal processing, and inspection Research, onboard and production harden new processes and equipment to increase quality, efficiency, and reduce cost of the AM workcenter Lead root cause investigation of issues with machines and manufacturing, and work with operations, maintenance, and outside vendors to implement solutions Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field Experience authoring and developing manufacturing processes to improve end product Proven skills with troubleshooting of industrial processes or equipment using RCA Experience working in aerospace or similar fields requiring a QMS or adhering to Industry Specifications Working experience with metallic printing, castings, forgings or welding Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours (if required) via phone or online tools Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: Experience with fabrication methods (ie. machining, sheet metal, carbon fiber manufacturing, riveting etc.) Experience training/mentoring engineers or support staff on advanced manufacturing methods Proficient with the use of CAD software (CREO preferred) Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or certification Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $103,230-$144,522 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
