Meta Applied Research Scientist, Generative AI - Speech & Audio in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

The Generatlve AI Org at Meta builds industry leading LLM Foundation models to enable many Meta products and open source. As an Applied Research Scientist in Generative AI, you have the opportunity to help push state of the art research, build industry leading foundation models, and bring them to products to impact billions of users.GenAI Audio 's mission is to build industry leading Speech & Audio foundation models, to enable Meta products. Our current focus is on controllable generative speech synthesis, to give our AI agents human-like voices. The current status: We have built a Speech foundation model that is capable of generating high quality voice given 10 - 20 seconds of target speaker voice, and can support deep cloning with 30 - 60 minutes voices. We can control speech emotions based on the LLM output. Generative AI service is being integrated into SG, MV, and APG.

Required Skills:

Applied Research Scientist, Generative AI - Speech & Audio Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, collaborate, and execute on research that pushes forward intelligent systems that improve Facebook products and experiences

  2. Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results

  3. Help identify long-term ambitious research goals as well as intermediate milestones

  4. Prioritize research that can be applied to Meta's product development

  5. Contribute to publications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, ASR, TTS, Conversational AI, Dialogue, Machine Learning or artificial intelligence

  3. Experience developing machine learning algorithms or machine learning infrastructure in C/C++ or Python

  4. Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  5. 3+ year(s) of work experience in a university, industry, or government lab, in a role with primary emphasis on AI research

  1. A PhD in AI, computer science, data science, or related technical fields

  2. Direct experience in generative AI and speech research

  3. First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., InterSpeech, ICASSP, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL)

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
