This recruitment offers a $10,000 Recruitment Incentive to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center has leadership opportunity to for an Assistant Nurse Manager for our inpatient psychiatric unit. This position is a unique leadership position to the unit and team.

THIS POSITION WILL PROVIDE:

  • Evaluate patients (screening nurse) for inpatient psychiatric care from internal and external community referrals.

  • Delivery of quality nursing assessments to determine appropriate unit for patient care.

  • Effective problem solving and communication for those transfers and timely contact with outside hospitals for patient transfers.

  • Continued professional development for self and others.

  • Serves as role model and provides guidance to other staff including orientation as a screener when unavailable.

  • With departmental leaders, maintains regulatory readiness by ensuring compliance with audits, checklists, and plans of correction. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Seeks appropriate consultations when necessary.

  • Efficiently implements the interventions identified to maintain regulatory standards.

  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes and intervenes as appropriate.

  • Demonstrates competency in documentation using the computerized medical record.

  • Promotes and contributes to the development of teamwork.

  • Represents the department in divisional and hospital committees.

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. SHIFT

  • 100% Days Note: This position will not work nights or weekends) REQUIRMENTS:

  • Have/Obtain an RN license to practice in WA or MSL.

  • Two or more years of experience as a psychiatric Registered Nurse.
