WORK SCHEDULE

  • Per Diem, Days POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Screens patients for nutrition risk and under the supervision of the dietitian implements a care plan utilizing the appropriate standards of care.

  • Provides patient education and facilitates communication between patient and other members of the Food service Department. ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning , opening on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in NW Seattle, the new facility will feature 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It will also house an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State.   • Collect information on patient weight, diet history, and medical diagnosis to accurately screen and/or assist with the RD assessment of a patient.

  • Provide follow-up and nutrition education patients under the supervision of the registered dietitian.

  • Adheres to standards for screening and charting.

  • Identifies patient learning needs, barriers to learning, preferred learning styles and education levels and provides appropriate education.

  • Demonstrates age specific competencies nutritional screening and intervention for different disease states.

  • Demonstrates current clinical knowledge and skills and shows interest in professional development.

  • Demonstrates leadership by orienting new dietetic interns to hospital environment and technology.

  • Works effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associate Degree from an accredited program offering training as a dietetic technician and Registration as a diet technician OR Equivalent education/experience.
