Expeditors Employee Relations & Benefits Specialist – HR Service in Seattle, Washington

Expeditors, a leader in global logistics, is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn a variety of human resource functions. The position includes exposure to a wide range of compliance related tasks and provides administrative support to the corporate Employee Relations department, supporting over 6,400 U.S. employees. A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, have exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple on-going projects.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Employee Lifecycle Processes:

  • Administer onboarding and offboarding processes for U.S. employees.

  • Communicate with Hiring Managers regarding the onboarding process; offer letter, background check, first day, first few weeks.

  • Lead new employee orientations and benefit trainings for corporate employees

  • Process and audit new employee paperwork within the HR/Payroll system for all U.S. hires.

  • Distribute offboarding documentation to departing employees and encourage completion of Exit Interviews.

  • Promoting Expeditors Employee Benefit Programs:

  • Manage Corporate Employee Relations communications calendar and partner cross functionally to align team strategy.

  • Create strategic internal communication plans for new programs, policies, and changes.

  • Draft and distribute employee communications (including Monthly Benefit & Program Emails and ER Tips of the Month Presentations).

  • Manage the Employee Relations & Benefits SharePoint sites, including writing web copy, identifying, and implementing improvements to the site organization and navigation, programming website changes, creating content, managing resources library on the website, and tracking web analytics.

  • Organize and coordinate content for annual Benefit Fairs.

  • Providing HR Service & Training:

  • Facilitate trainings on HR related topics for new employees, supervisors/managers, and District Employee Relations Coordinators.

  • Develop, coordinate, and present webinars, workshops, orientations, and educational seminars after identifying effective and innovative ways to communicate about Employee Relations & Benefits topics.

  • Actively participate as a member of the network of over 70 U.S. Employee Relations Coordinators, including facilitating monthly regional meetings and quarterly network-wide meetings.

  • Provide support to all other human resource functions as needed.

  • Work closely with members of the Corporate Employee Relations & Benefits team on a variety of tasks.

  • Meet Expeditors’ annual training requirements.

To be immediately considered for this opportunity, the following are needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Preferred 0 - 2 years’ experience in a human resources role.

  • Demonstrated interest in human resources.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees and management to ensure effective support on human resource issues.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and a critical eye.

  • Organizational skills that result in consistent volume and quality of output

  • Diligent and firm ethics.

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

Non-Exempt Annual Salary: $56,000 - $60,000 (DOE)
