To support Blue Origin's ambitious vision of millions of people living and working in space, we are seeking a qualified Technical Project Manager to join our Facilities team in Kent, Washington. The Washington Construction Management Team is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of industrial, office, warehouse, and testing facilities to support the rapid growth of aerospace programs at Blue Origin's headquarters. This role will have a direct impact on multiple Blue Origin initiatives, including our Blue Engines, New Glenn, New Shepard, and Lunar programs. Operations: This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Special Mentions Relocation provided Travel expected up to 25% of the time Interviews will include a technical assessment Responsibilities: Support multiple workcenter construction projects of varying complexity, budget, and duration for new and existing Blue Origin facilities Own and maintain the intake process for capital construction projects Own and maintain the process for allocating floor space to workcenters Own and maintain the backlog and program schedule for capital projects Maintain the schedule and budget reporting dashboards for all in-process capital projects Work with internal customers to gather requirements for construction Lead the workcenter programming and sizing efforts, often working with external architects and engineering design firms Create flexible workcenter layouts that minimize capital expenditure and support manufacturing rate requirements Support construction cost estimates for business case justifications Reduce expected construction costs through Value Engineering Assess the financial viability of capital projects through the use of Net Present Value analysis Write technical memos to request capital funds for new projects, or to make recommendations for other improvements Work with other facilities partners to plan the movement of people Report-out to executive leadership on status of workcenter capital projects Continuously improve the requirements gathering process and procedures through iteration Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar fields 8+ years of Industrial Engineering experience 3+ years of project management experience Demonstrated experience supporting the build out of manufacturing facilities and workcenters Competence with the Microsoft Software Suite (in particular, MS Project and Excel) Proficiency with using AutoCAD for workcenter layouts Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the full lifecycle of workcenter-readiness projects: from requirements gathering to turnover for operations Experience in making the business case for and managing capital budgets Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-sensitivity environments (ITAR) Experience in supporting the transition from low-volume development to high-volume production Familiarity with the construction process of a manufacturing environment Project Management Certification (PMP or other) Proficiency with Atlassian's Jira software Familiarity with the Critical Path Method
