Amazon Performance Marketing Manager in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking an experienced Performance Marketing Manager to spearhead the definition and optimization of our paid social, programmatic display, and other digital advertising initiatives. This role involves leading a talented group of marketing specialists, forecasting channel performance, driving high-quality conversions across a vast array of local, national, and niche campaigns, while overseeing one of Amazon's largest budgets.

Key job responsibilities

  • Hands-on technical expertise: Lead paid social, programmatic display, and other CPC initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, testing & learning roadmaps, and measurement plans.

  • Leading from the front: Coach and empower team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment to achieve goals.

  • Optimization through collaboration: Partner with digital marketing team members, other Amazon teams, and platform partners to monitor and optimize campaigns on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Continuous inspection: Perform in platform audits, strategies, optimizations, and approaches that will lead to the best-in-class execution, optimal results for our customers and other team members.

  • Tool and tech enhancements expert: Master proprietary technology platforms to drive improvement across automated marketing initiatives. Partner with Science and Technology teams to build out high impact capabilities.

  • Effective Budget Management: Leverage data-based decisions and deep in-channel analysis to ensure campaigns are cost-effective, allocating resources effectively across campaigns and channels to maximize ROI.

  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Implement sophisticated CRO techniques, including multivariate and split testing, to improve landing page performance and funnel conversions.

  • Drive the right results: Define, align, and regularly refine goals and KPIs to achieve marketing objectives, with an emphasis on iterative improvement.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Regularly analyze data, prepare reports, and provide insights to measure the effectiveness of campaigns. Present results and insights to partners, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of channel owners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment focused on delivering exceptional results.

A day in the life

Your day begins by reviewing channel performance, setting individual and team goals, and devising plans to enhance key metrics. Throughout the day, you'll work closely with your team, providing guidance and feedback on activate and upcoming campaigns. You’re frequently called upon to analyze real-time data, and adeptly communicate complex marketing concepts. You comfortably pivot plans, responding nimbly to evolving business needs. You navigate multiple reporting processes, evaluating results of testing and campaigns daily/weekly/monthly, preparing insights and recommendations via dashboards, written reports, and presentations. You’re continuously balancing analytical acumen with effective communication, ensuring that the entire organization is aligned and empowered to deliver on short term goals without sacrificing the longer-term vision. As part of our hybrid 3-day in-office model, you lead collaboration sessions, brainstorm in huddles, strengthen connections though networking, and utilize onsite facilities. You’ll dedicate time to coaching and mentoring your team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

  • Experience managing teams

  • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

  • Experience in audience segmentation and targeting

  • Experience in A/B testing

  • Experience building and managing campaigns in digital advertising platforms and tools (eg Google Ads, Facebook Ads, ad servers, Adobe Analytics/Adobe Ad Cloud, programmatic advertising, etc.) and practical expertise in bid management, testing, auditing, and optimizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A creative and strategic thinker, fascinated by testing to prove out ideas.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a dynamic environment.

  • Relevant certifications in digital marketing and data analytics (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint, Google Analytics) are a plus.

  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling techniques is helpful

  • Experience operating across multiple time zones

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
