Amazon Principal Product Manager Tech, Selection Monitoring in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon’s Selection Monitoring team is responsible for making the biggest catalog on the planet even bigger. We build software to find products not already sold on Amazon and algorithmically add them to the Amazon catalog. Our work involves building state-of-the-art Information Retrieval (IR) systems, extracting structured-data from unstructured-content, automatic item classification, storage systems to hold the massive catalog and distributed systems of cloud-scale. We apply the state-of-the-art parallel processing, machine learning and deep learning algorithms to evaluate millions of products every day and to identify and prioritize new additions to Amazon’s selection efficiently. If you are customer obsessed, dedicated, tenacious and love analyzing huge amount of data, you will have fun solving our technical and business problems of unprecedented scale. In this role, you will build and lead a series of features with engineering team impacting Programs across multiple Amazon teams with the goals of making the most important selection available for our customers. You will work with software and business teams around the company to identify and deploy innovative solutions that achieve the business objective. Our environment is fast-paced and requires a candidate who is flexible, detail-oriented, thrives on ambiguity, and can drive results across cross-functional groups. The ideal candidate will have excellent Product management, technical skills, problem solving and communication skills and be comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. The candidate should have a history of thinking through Product strategy, driving cross functional product requirements, ability to draw deep insights from complex data, have exceptional business judgement including financial acumen to quickly assess the viability of key decisions, and the ability to write compelling business documents and drive outcomes for senior leadership at Amazon. The ability to influence cross functionally and across the organization, at all levels, will be absolutely critical to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

Define and drive product strategy for a Selection Monitoring Products and programs

Create buy-in for product strategy across the partner teams in Amazon.

Be market aware on new technology, tools and business trends to incorporate into product strategy

Drive cross org alignment on the product vision and influence roadmaps

Develop detailed business requirements, user stories, and product specifications.

Partner with engineering, porogram and partner teams to drive product launch and business growth.

Mentor and groom other Product managers and Technical Program Managers

You work with NA and SA category leadership on emerging product and technical needs around Selection Addition

You are assessing the health of Selection Monitoring key products and assess key metrics

You are discussing with other cross org teams to get alignment, resolve debates and assess risks.

You are reviewing a feedback from customer of Selection Monitoring data

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

  • Experience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
