Nordstrom Principal Program Manager Tech - Data Platform and AI Team (Hybrid - Seattle, Chicago, LA, or Denver) in Seattle, Washington

The Data Platform and AI team manages Nordstrom’s data infrastructure and uses machine learning, statistical modeling, and deep analysis to solve some of the most critical problems that face JWN’s customers and the organization. We work with stakeholders from every function in the company, and embed our output in technology that supports employee decision making and our customer’s engagements with the brand at every touchpoint. We are looking for a Principal Program Manager Technology to administrate initiatives that cut across our analytics groups and serve as a strategic partner for the VP.

This senior-level individual contributor will manage programs that have a wide scope that may change or evolve over time to meet the needs of the organization. The role is designed to ensure the high quality of work produced by the Data Platform and AI organization by removing organizational impediments and helping build a consistent process for development, measurement, organizational engagement, and promotion of the team’s capabilities. The responsibilities outlined below are all intended to accomplish this goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Play the General Contractor role for the team’s highest impact / priority initiatives

  • In 2024 this includes leading the data platform migration to GCP

  • Define and track the key performance indicators of the organization and drive progress against these metrics (e.g. product adoption, model accuracy/drift, deployment frequency, report usage, compliance with technical standards, etc.)

  • Support and help drive the creation of and adherence to technical standards and best practices across the organization.

  • Act as a strategic partner to the DSA VP on...

  • Board/executive meeting materials

  • Organizational design and planning

  • Budgeting and prioritization

  • Key meetings and stakeholder engagements

You’ve got this if you have…

  • A 4-year degree in related field preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of program management experience in technology with demonstrated success in delivery

  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms and tools for analytics and machine learning (e.g. AWS, Azure, Apache Kafka/Airflow, etc.)

  • A strong understanding of different technology stacks and how they integrate (e.g. cloud, APIs, services, open source, database technologies, etc.)

  • Familiarity with program management tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira, Aha)

  • Highly skilled in Agile development concepts, planning, and ceremonies

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships

  • Comfortable working with remote teams

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California: $162,000 - $297,000 Annually, Colorado: $162,000 - $252,500 Annually, Washington: $162,000 - $297,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
