Amazon Program Manager, Localization in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Amazon Canada Product & Tech team is looking for a Program Manager to support image localization. Amazon Canada’s French Customer Experience team is leading the cross-organizational effort to ensure that the millions of images across the Canada Store, from product infographics to marketing images, are localized into our customers’ preferred languages, beginning with French in Canada. This program manager will join the cross-organizational team of product managers, engineers, and scientists to build out and scale new capabilities in the image translation and localization space. The Program Manager, Image Localization will develop plans and execute on initiatives that support excellent image quality output to our website and operational efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external teams in reducing latency and cost while increasing quality and volume. They will use data to influence others and build processes and systems that support scale. This is an exciting opportunity to build something new and drive initiatives that will directly impact the customer experience.

A successful candidate will have experience in program or project management, familiarity with managing business operations, and working with internal and external partners. They will be self-starting, analytical, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the image localization project roadmap, run stand ups, drive action items to timely completion

  • Build out optimal, cross-team processes that improve team effectiveness

  • Manage relationships with business teams, vendors and sellers, and internal and external support teams

  • Negotiate optimal time, resources, and cost with internal and external support teams

  • Continuously improve programs, based on feedback from KPIs and internal and external teams

  • Inform and influence speedy decision-making with leadership and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience with basic web-based tools and products like Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions

  • Experience in leading large, cross functional projects

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
