$10,000 Signing Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center’s (HMC) Edward Thomas House Medical Respite at Jefferson Terrace has an outstanding opportunity for part-time Registered Nurse (RN). WORK SCHEDULE: • Part-time, 60% FTE, 24 hours per week • Night shift - Fri, Sat, Sun 2300-0730

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Harborview’s Edward Thomas House Medical Respite at Jefferson Terrace , is a collaborative project among six area hospitals and Health Care for the Homeless Network. The program provides nursing care 16 hours per day and non-clinical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Nurses provide up to twice daily care for acute issues, as well as IV infusion and complicated wound care. Mental health clinicians complete a psychosocial screening to assess housing, mental health and funding needs. This is a 34 bed medical shelter with a harm reduction approach to care.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform specific functions related to clinical practice, education and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Health Services Manager, the Program Operations Specialist and the Medical Director. • Provide leadership for clinic and divisional activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication and continued professional development for self and others. • Serve as a role model and provides guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance. • Utilize the nursing process [assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation] to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients and families. • Make independent judgements/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations. • Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care.

REQUIREMENTS: • Washington State or Multi-State RN license required by start date. • Two years of RN nursing experience and familiar working with people who are homeless. • Commitment to ensuring equity, inclusion and diversity in healthcare delivery, team support and process improvement initiatives.
