Blue Origin LLC SLD Systems Engineer III, Engines Integration - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As a Systems Engineer on the Lunar Permanence Program Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team, you will be responsible for the integration and technical oversight of crucial propulsion hardware, including the BE-7, BHEX, and BT-1.1 engines, across multiple lunar landers. Your role encompasses shaping technical content, managing propulsion systems' performance parameters, ensuring issue resolution, and coordinating with cross-functional teams and NASA to ensure seamless compliance with design and construction standards. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful development of the lunar transportation system and the certification of the Human-class Delivery Lander, enabling humanity's sustained presence on the Moon. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensure BE-7, BHEX and BT-1.1 hardware and related common components are integrated across Transporter, Crew and Cargo Landers. Define technical content for SOW for BE-7, BHEX and BT-1.1 Run BE-7, BHEX and BT-1.1 integration meeting. Ensure progress is being made on all top issues, drive them to closure as soon as possible. Ensure Engines top issues reflected on Program top issues. Ensure Engines risks included in program risks and being managed. Create and elevate decisions to SLD board. Manage Engines Technical Performance Parameters (TPMs). Manage SLD performance requirements, provide to engines in Requirements Definition. Evaluate Engines analyses against requirements. Evaluate Engines designs against requirements. Work with RVC team to sign off on Engines V&V approach. Manage engine need/delivery dates, work with PPC to maintain and optimize the IMS. Manage relationship with NASA Insight team -ensure timely answers to questions and provide visibility into integration activities. Coordinate with RVC team and NASA to ensure design and construction standards are satisfied. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or another technical field. 5+ years of experience in the integration of complex hardware components across multiple space vehicles and platforms, particularly in propulsion systems. Strong leadership and facilitation capabilities to lead integration meetings, ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration and progress tracking to drive timely issue resolution and closure. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Comprehensive knowledge and proactive management of technical performance parameters and risks associated with advanced propulsion systems, alongside the ability to elevate critical decisions to program leadership for strategic alignment and resolution.
