Coupang Global, LLC Staff Back-end Engineer in Seattle, Washington
Staff Back-end Engineer for Coupang Global LLC in Seattle, WA to own design, development and maintenance of large scale multi-tiered applications, systems and services from end to end and provide technical directions. Design and implement sophisticated systems to meet the needs of the Rocket-on-Demand (ROD) business and exercise direct ownership of new features to improve ROD platform's scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility and performance. Automate and simplify team's development and operations processes. Participate in hiring, mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction to junior engineers to build, own and maintain large-scale distributed systems. Work on components, applications or services, including building new complex system or making major improvements to existing system that the team owns. Make technical trade-off decisions at system level. Facilitate communication with other teams on dependencies. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus seven (7) years of experience driving architecture and design of large scale, multi-tiered, distributed software services or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience driving architecture and design of large scale, multi-tiered, distributed software services. Specific skills/other requirements - (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) -- must possess the following: designing software product features, technical designs and product strategy, applying knowledge of fundamental algorithms, system design and large distributed systems, object-oriented design; performing coding using Java, Scala, Kotlin, C++ or C#; and providing technical leadership and project management to all aspects of software development, including communicating with users, technical teams and senior management. Salary Range: $228,936.00 - $297,000.00/year.
