The Riverdale Mill is currently seeking Journeymen who are dependable with excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills. The hourly rate of pay is $38.38 for day workers and $39.23 for shift workers.

The Job You Will Perform:
Obtain daily work orders
Read blueprints and drawings
Dismantle machines as needed
Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
Assemble and install equipment
Install machine and equipment according to lay-out plan, blue prints and other drawings
Utilize hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
Operate cranes, tow motors and fork lifts
Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, dial indicators
Install machinery; new and existing equipment
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment
Refurbish/maintain valves, pumps, gear boxes, bearings, agitators, conveyors, turbines, paper machines, lime kiln
Have computer skills
Measure for bearing clearance and shaft diameters
Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues
Fabricate structural materials as needed
Assist mechanical craft as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
The Skills You Will Bring:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years or older
Eligible for employment in the US
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer skills
Able to function in a team environment.
AND one of the following
- Three (3) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, WELDING, OR PIPEFITTING.
OR
- A degree or certification in the Mechanical Discipline: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, WELDING, OR PIPEFITTING.
PLUS: Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment.
Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.
Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis.
Wear required safety equipment.
Operate or work in industrial conditions such as warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, in noisy areas, around heavy machinery, at elevated working surfaces or tight/close spaces with proper safety training and safety protection
Successful candidate should have the ability to :
Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety

Develop knowledge of department and mill operations processes, equipment and systems
Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Work effectively alone or within a team
Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
