Enviri Corporation Staff Accountant (Financial Accountant II) in Seven Fields, Pennsylvania

SUMMARY

The position requires knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions. The individual will assist with inventory, cash management and balance reconciliations/bank statements.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with monthly closing, maintenance of accounting files, and preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, and financial analyses, etc. This individual may be asked to assist with ad-hoc projects and general office support tasks when necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (but not limited to).

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Assist with daily accounting functions.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including sub-ledgers. Research any discrepancies and propose any necessary adjusting journal entries.

  • Perform analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify and investigate unusual fluctuations. Communicating results of analysis to senior management timely.

  • Complete intercompany accounting transactions.

  • Participate in the month end close process, ensuring timely and accurate close.

  • Apply accounting principles and perform certain financial controls to ensure compliance with SOX procedures.

  • Provide audit deliverables and communicates with the internal and external audit teams to determine implementation of best practices.

  • Assist in administering lease accounting guidelines through coordination with Corporate Accounting, utilizing lease software application and communicating with plant and operations.

  • Complete special projects and various reporting requests from key business partners including internal, divisional, and corporate teams.

  • Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Desired: Advanced degree in accounting/finance (MBA or Master’s) or certification (CPA/CMA).

  • Experience

  • At least three to four years of combined public accounting and corporate accounting experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with internal controls and SOX.

  • Experience with ERP and Reporting software, preferably Oracle. Proficient in MS Office products, advanced Excell skills (V-lookup, Pivot Tables).

  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and a rapid month end closing schedule.
