General Motors Senior Analyst, Sales reporting and short-term forecasting in Shanghai, China
Job Description
Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to HQ Building in Shanghai, China five times per week.
The Role
The position will consolidate GM China vehicle sales data and provide timely and regular reports to GM China and global functions; maintain competitors’ sales and price database; support SGM sales company and management with sales report, meeting material preparation, performance analysis and relevant market analysis
This position will report to Senior Manager, short-term sales forecasting and reporting, GM China VSSM
What You’ll Do
Consolidate daily sales data from joint ventures/business units and provide daily report to GM China management and global sales reporting team
Consolidate weekly sales deliveries and outlook, draft report for GM China management’s regular meetings and update to global leadership, review the draft with team manager
Monthly competitors’ sales and price database maintenance with inputs from contracted external third parties
Support SGM sales company: tracking incentive programs (approval, effectiveness), BoD meeting material preparation, SGM performance analysis, etc.
Support requests from JVs/company management, brand leaders and functions on vehicle sales/price data, and relevant market analyses
Support weekly VSSM (vehicle sales, service, and marketing)’s review with GM China management
Participate in relevant market analysis to support the company’s sales planning, pricing strategies and relevant management decisions
Regularly monitor market trends and future competitive entries by actively participating in industry conferences, screening industry media/APP/websites, and updating accordingly
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
University degree in Business Management, Economics, Statistics or related field with an emphasis in mathematics or statistics required, Master/MBA degree preferred
Strong analytical skills with ability to identify data trends, sales dynamics, competitive trends; ability to work with creativity and critical thinking desired
Able to deliver work assignment in a short turnaround amidst dynamic business environment
Attention to details
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English with the ability to compile information into unified reports
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including PPT, Excel, Pivot table, Power BI, etc. Data skill sets including Tableau, data Visualization, SQL, R or Python programming preferred
Final work level of offer will be subject to candidate’s background and experience.
