Hyatt Director of Events in SHENZHEN, China

Description:

§ To conduct extensive competitor surveys on current and new Events/ Banqueting product & concept.

§ To ensure a high level of exposure for hotel through direct sales solicitation, telephone contacts and written communications.

§ To assist the Director of Marketing to review and evaluate the effectiveness of catering activities and adjust as necessary to achieve or exceed the objectives as outlined in the Annual Marketing Plan.

§ To implement the operational standards as per Hyatt International Operation Manuals, establishing the Hotel as the undisputed trendsetter in Catering creativity.

§ To plan and make sales calls to companies which are our current and potential clienteles to explore into new events business opportunities.

§ To be responsible for the overall Events Department’s revenue and expense budget.

§ To assist with the preparation and regularly update of the departmental budget, in close cooperation with the Director of Marketing and EAM – Food & Beverage ensuring targets are met and costs are effectively controlled.

Qualifications:

Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management. Minimum 2 years work experience as Director of Catering or Convention Services in large operation. Good operational, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
