Position Overview:

Adecco is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Temporary Legal Assistant to join our team for 2-4 weeks. This position will provide crucial support to our legal department, ensuring that all administrative and clerical tasks are handled efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal administrative work, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties including answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.

  • Document Preparation: Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Assist in the preparation of pleadings, briefs, and other court documents.

  • File Management: Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, ensuring that all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.

  • Research: Conduct legal research as needed, summarizing findings and preparing reports for attorneys.

  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to coordinate meetings, gather information, and relay messages.

  • Data Entry: Enter and update information in legal databases and case management systems.

  • Billing and Invoicing: Assist with the preparation and submission of invoices, tracking billable hours, and processing payments.

  • Court Filings: Prepare and file documents with various courts, both electronically and in person, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members to support case preparation and management.

  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the legal department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role within a legal environment.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with legal software and case management systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a temporary, full-time position with standard office hours.

Pay Details: $16.00 per hour
