Summary
As Strategy & Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for working closely with the executive team to drive key strategic initiatives for Nomad across various functions. As part of a rapidly growing business supported by a small team, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between customers, commercial, engineering, support, and product teams. You will be in the unique position of overseeing how these various parts interact with each other and identifying opportunities to improve on our day-to-day execution. You will support the GM in scaling the organization sustainably and will share in the responsibility of achieving Nomad’s north stars on user growth, financial targets, and customer satisfaction.
You are a self-starter and independent thinker with exceptional analytical and communication skills, with a strong drive towards solving problems, a relentless focus on what is essential vs what is not, and on identifying ways to achieve outcomes more efficiently.
Responsibilities
Identify problems and growth opportunities through data analysis connecting pricing, product, support, and the various components of the Nomad tech stack
Interface frequently with cross-functional teams to resolve inefficiencies and roadblocks, and to keep deployments on track
Conceive, own, and drive high-impact projects across operations-related verticals, with an eye toward driving significant improvement in user experience
Prepare deep-dives on business gaps / cases raised by the Nomad Leadership, such as revenue growth, cost optimisation, organizational effectiveness
Improve operational efficiency by developing and implementing optimization plans, ensure effective implementation of strategies by collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously optimize operational results
Assist in product operations management and performance monitoring and use customer feedback / research to adjust strategies
Work closely with senior management and shape Nomad’s operational processes through robust analysis and initiatives
Prepare and update materials for business reviews and related activities, highlighting progress towards goals, key risks and dependencies
Build a deep understanding of our customers, market, competitors through market research to review international travel patterns, eSIM and smartphone trends
Requirements
5-7 years of experience in Product, Strategy and/or Operations - industry experience in telecom, e-commerce, or fintech preferred
Bachelor’s degree or higher, with demonstrated academic achievement. MBA is a plus.
Self-starter that can identify and prioritize opportunities to focus on - willing to roll up your sleeves and go deep into the assigned problem
Track record of collaborating across teams – can effectively partner with product, commercial, operations, and customer support
Strong written and spoken communication skills - you’re able to articulate complex concepts in a simple way
Strong analytical background coupled with problem solving skills - comfortable with extracting data from diverse sources, combining the data, performing exploratory analyses and finally synthesizing results into succinct insights
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
Startup experience or ex-consulting experience preferred but not required
Strong business analytical skills with a data-driven mindset to managing metrics
Able to take ownership of initiatives and execute on ideas quickly, especially in environments where there are no “right answers”; love working in a startup environment and building things from 0 to 1
Able to work in a remote, distributed team
